Johnathan Powell as quoted in “Readers Digest” November 2004 p 146
Perception is a crazy thing.
Our human nature is to look at one thing as . . . one thing, and not perceive it having any other meaning than what we see. If you watched the recent movie “Inception” you experienced the theme of perception weaved throughout the story line. Were the characters really in a dream, or did they perceive reality . . . as reality?
The American author Gary Zukav had this to say about perception:
What we perceive depends upon what we look for. What we look for depends upon what we think. What we think depends upon what we perceive. What we perceive determines what we believe.
What we believe determines what we take to be true. What we take to be true is our reality.
It’s in the Bag. No really, it’s in the Bag!
In the world of waste packaging we also come across the issue of "perception" in terminology. The question is not in the waste, but in the method of packaging that specific type of waste, that is compliant and offers cost-savings at the same time.
For instance, you would not package a low-level radioactive waste in the same type of packaging as you would a hazardous waste. Many times PacTec has had customers come to us wanting a "big rad waste trash bag"! And rightly so, they may need that "big rad waste trash bag", and to the customer that is a great way to express their perception of their packaging need.
In actuality, it is a type of a waste bag, because it does help the end user package their waste stream, but the determining factor in what type of waste bag is developed, is the type of waste being packaged. That previously mentioned customer wanting the "big rad waste trash bag", may really need another type of packaging solution different than his perception of the waste and the packaging. It may even be less costly than he . . . perceived.
For over 28 years, PacTec has provided waste bags for just about every industry imaginable, with the track record to prove that a waste bag can be so much more. It’s the customer’s need that determines the configuration of that waste bag. We have been tagged globally as “The Industry’s Leading Solutions Provider” in waste and transportation packaging. We do more testing than anyone in the industry, and with an on staff R&D and Engineering department, we can customize manufacture packaging, in our ISO 9001:2008 facilities, for your specific waste stream. Many times we will have an instock item that will be perfect for your needs, and ready to ship same day! So here's the challenge . . .
