WASTE PACKAGING INDUSTRY LEADER PACTEC, INC. ANNOUNCES OPENING OF NEW MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN BATON ROUGE, LA

Clinton, LA

PacTec, Inc. of Clinton, LA announced the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Baton Rouge, LA. The facility, located in the southeast corner of East Baton Rouge Parish, will fabricate the company’s entire line of dewatering filters and auxiliary items for spill containment. This new facility will play a critical role in meeting PacTec’s growing inventory needs and assisting in national supply chain management.

“The expansion of our manufacturing capabilities into Baton Rouge is a critical milestone offering many benefits, including the availability of a larger, well-trained workforce and logistical proximity to our Mississippi River industrial corridor customers,” comments Mike Schilling, owner and chief executive officer of PacTec, Inc. “It also extends our long-standing commitment to reinvest in our local communities.”

The new facility is designed to support the company’s robust growth strategy, which includes the introduction of innovative new technology and waste packaging solutions. With several initiatives expected to begin in 2018, these enhanced manufacturing capabilities are expected to be a catalyst for more research and development to meet the growing regulatory challenges our customers face.

After months of planning, the new facility – a nearly $500,000 investment – has immediately created over a dozen jobs and $600,000 in payroll. Additional staff and capital investment are expected in the near future. Several leaders are weighing in on the expansion, including Adam Knapp, president and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, who says “We applaud PacTec for further investing in the Capital Region. This new facility in East Baton Rouge joins its headquarters in Feliciana Parish, underscoring the region’s competitive advantage for manufacturing. We look forward to working together in supporting their continued success.”

"We are pleased that the leadership of PacTec has decided to build their new expansion facility in East Baton Rouge Parish," said Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome. "This global brand is as committed to investing locally as we are in growing and diversifying our economic base. We look forward to seeing PacTec grow and prosper in our community."
